Jayamma had come in an autorickshaw driven by Govindaraju. After finding that the notes were fake Jayamma and auto driver Govindaraju have been handed over to the Dabaspet Police. Currently, she is being questioned by the police.

Speaking to Suvarna News, Chandu, who was a witness to the actress’s arrest said, “I had been to the hotel to drink tea. A lady arrived in an autorickshaw to a nearby shop brought something and removed money from her kerchief and gave the Rs 2000 note. The boy employed in the shop just put the note in the machine to check if it was real and found that it was a fake note. He returned the note to Jayamma and asked her to return the item.”

Chandu who was watching this from the hotel decided to catch the woman red handed. After she left the shop Chandu along with four others followed the lady in their car. She got down from the auto in front of another shop, brought soap powder and gave the shop owner (an old lady) Rs 2,000 note. But as the owner did not have change she returned the note to Jayamma and asked her to get change.

Then Jayamma went into a bakery brought an item worth Rs 50 and gave the Rs 2,000 note. The shopkeeper did not suspect anything and gave her the remaining change (Rs 1,950). Once Jayamma left, Chandu and the four men went to the bakery and asked the shopkeepers to show the note given by Jayamma.

While verifying, the note was found to be fake. So, he took the note and along with the shopkeeper of the bakery, of the earlier shop followed her.

Chandu said, “After stopping the auto, we started questioning her and found more such fake Rs 2000 notes with her. Immediately, we informed the police, who came to the spot and arrested Jayamma and driver Govindaraju.”

Approximately she had 24 notes of Rs 2,000 with her, said eyewitness Chandu. When people looked into the auto, the lady had purchased items like rice, banana and small items from other shops. The eyewitness also said that he had no clue that she was an actress. Her identity was known only once she was taken to the hospital.

Currently, she is being questioned by the police. But when people asked her about the source of the note, the lady is said to have requested the crowd to leave her alone. “I got this money while I was travelling in a bus. I tried to use it for transaction thinking it will help me for the future of my daughter,” said Chandu, the eye witness.
