All-India petrol strike cancelled, but petrol availability still doubtful in Karnataka

FollowGoing against the decision of the All India Petroleum Traders to end a nationwide strike of petroleum traders, The Federation of Mysuru Petroleum Traders are all set to go on strike in selected districts in Karnataka. The strike will start at midnight on June 16.
Ranjith Heggade, the president of The Federation of Mysuru Petroleum Traders, called the strike to protest the changing of prices every day. The Federation met in Mysuru today, May 16, and decided not to sell petroleum products during the 1-day strike. The strike will be held in Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagara, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Kodagu.
The all-India strike was called off earlier today by the All India Petroleum Traders. President Ashok Badhwar said they were withdrawing their ‘No Sale No Purchase’ on Friday because the government had taken the decision of daily price revision in public interest.
The strike may only affect the business of the districts but will not make a major impact in the state. Their demands may also not be taken seriously since it is only a one-day strike. The traders in Bengaluru decided to stay out of the strike.
