South Western Railway has announced a special train between Bengaluru and Belagavi to manage the summer holiday rush. The service includes key stops and multiple coach classes, offering a convenient travel option for passengers during peak season.
In a welcome move for travellers during the peak summer holiday season, the South Western Railway has announced a special express train service between Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru and Belagavi. The decision comes in response to the anticipated surge in passenger demand, with authorities aiming to provide a more convenient and comfortable travel option for those heading to their hometowns or holiday destinations.

Schedule and Timings
Train No. 06503, a special express service, will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 7:00 pm on April 30, 2026. It is scheduled to arrive at Belagavi railway station at 7:35 am the following day. This is a one-time special service introduced to manage the increased travel demand during the summer period.
For the return journey, Train No. 06504 will depart from Belagavi at 5:30 pm on May 3 and is expected to reach SMVT Bengaluru at 5:00 am the next day. The service is designed to ensure smooth connectivity in both directions.
Halt Stations Along the Route
The special train will halt at several key stations en route, including Chikkabanavara, Tumakuru, Sampige Road, Arsikere, Birur, Davanagere, Harihar, Haveri, Karjagi, Hubballi, Dharwad, Alnavar, Londa, and Khanapur. These stops will allow passengers from intermediate towns to make use of the service.
Coach Composition
The train will consist of a total of 19 coaches to cater to passengers across different travel classes. The composition includes 2 AC 2-tier coaches, 4 AC 3-tier coaches, 7 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second class coaches, and 2 SLRD coaches, which include seating and luggage space along with the guard’s compartment.
Additional Convenience for Travellers
Overall, this special train service introduced by the South Western Railway is expected to significantly ease travel during the busy summer season.
