The Mumbai police had stepped up security in order to prevent any kind of disturbances in the city.

Naik, who was supposed to hold a press meet tomorrow, will now speak to larger audience through video conference.

Naik has been under scanner after the recent Dhaka terror attack. It was reported that the attackers were inspired by his "provacative messages". The preacher has dismissed the allegations against him.

In addition to a probable summon to the controversial tele host, the Mumbai police is also maintaining tight security to prevent any kind of untoward incident.

When Naik lands in Mumbai, there might be protests and rallies in his support. Ruling Shiv Sena has demanded that Naik should be arrested immediately after he lands in Mumbai.

Amid the recent controversy, Naik had criticised ISIS.

Other than Mumbai police, state and central investigating and intelligence agencies are looking at his video tapes which were telecast in Peace TV. Following the Dhaka attack, both the Maharashtra government and Union Home Ministry had ordered probe on his activities.
