West Bengal: CID arrests one more suspect in BJP leader Manish Shukla’s murder

The CID, probing the killing of BJP leader Manish Shukla, has arrested one more suspect accused of sheltering the shooters. Police have so far arrested four people in connection with the murder of Manish Shukla.

Another accused in the murder of BJP leader Manish Shukla has been caught by the CID. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested person had allegedly planned to assassinate the BJP leader. Police have so far arrested four people in connection with the murder of Manish Shukla.

The latest arrested suspect, Subhodh Yadav alias Suvodh Rai, was picked up from his Barrackpore residence by the sleuths of the CID on Wednesday night.

Police have been claiming from the very beginning that the murder was due to old enmity. So far, the CID has arrested Nasir Khan, Md Khurram Khan, Gulab Ali Sheikh and Subhodh Yadav in connection with the murder.

Manish Shukla was killed in front of the BJP party office in Titagarh on October 4 evening. He joined the BJP after leaving the Trinamool party. The BJP claimed that Manish Shukla was killed due to political conflict.

An initial autopsy report stated 14 bullet wounds were found in Manish Shukla’s body. Initially, investigators got to know that the BJP leader was shot with a 7mm pistol. Police arrested the two accused by analysing the information given by locals and also watching CCTV footage.
