New Delhi: Union home minister Amit Shah has tested negative for coronavirus as per BJP MP Manoj Tiwari. Tiwari stated that Amit Shah is free of the virus. However, an MHA official reportedly stated that no COVID-19 test has been conducted yet on this.
Amit Shah on Sunday (August 2) tested positive for COVID-19 infection and was admitted to hospital.
Shah took to social media to inform people of his infection. “I have tested positive for COVID-19 and request people who have come in contact with me to get tested,” he stated.
He took tests after showing symptoms of coronavirus and the report showed he was positive for the infection, after which the Union home minister took to Twitter to inform people.
Other BJP leaders including Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh have tested positive for the coronavirus.
India on August 9 recorded a single-day spike of 64,399 cases. The death toll climbed to 43,379 with 861 more fatalities, the health ministry said.
No official statement has been received yet from the Ministry of Home Affairs on complete recovery of the Union home minister from COVID-19.
