Jaipur: The MLAs from CM Ashok Gehlot’s faction returned from Jaisalmer to Jaipur on Wednesday. All the MLAs were immediately ferried from the airport to hotel Fairmont as the Assembly session in the state is set to begin on 14 August.

Sources say that the MLAs will return to their respective constituency only after the session. These ministers have been staying at various resorts for 31 days to avoid any horse-trading. First, these MLAs were taken to Jaipur’s Fairmont hotel on 13 July, and then from there, they were taken to Jaisalmer where they stayed at Suryagrah resort.

A video is going viral on social media, in which the MLAs from the Gehlot faction are seen, confirms the news. Sources say the video was shot when the MLAs were on their way back to Jaipur.

Sources add that with the political turmoil in the state abating, the ministers are now relaxed. In the video, senior Congress leader Mahesh Joshi is seen humming a song as the other ministers join him in chorus. Mahesh Joshi first sang a Mohammed Rafi song. As the MLAs nudged Joshi for one more song, he then recited a ghazal by Pankaj Udhas.

Sources added that 90 MLAs and 20 Congress ministers had returned from Jaisalmer. The sources confirmed that the CM had visited Jaisalmer on Tuesday where he met his MLAs and briefed them about the political situation in the state. The Assembly Session starts on Friday. Experts say that with the political turmoil that the state has seen in the past one month, the session could be a fiery one.
