Police in Pune has issued a lookout notice for Kiran Gosavi, who shot to fame after a selfie he took with Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan at the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal after the Narcotics Control Bureau.

Gosavi was a witness during the NCB raid on the rave party on board the cruise ship when Aryan was picked up along with eight other accused.

However, the Pune Police is trying to catch hold of him for an offence he committed in 2018. Gosavi has been accused of cheating a person on the pretext of getting a job in Malaysia. There is a case registered against him at the Faraskhana police station.

He has been charged under Section 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly neither returning the amount he took from the person nor offering employment. According to police, Gosavi has been evading arrest since the filing of the FIR.

He has three other cases of cheating lodged against him. Two of these cases were filed at the Kapurbawdi police station in Thane in 2015 and 2016. Another case is pending at Mumbai's Andheri police station since 2007.

After the viral photo with Aryan Khan surfaced, the Pune Police visited Gosavi's residence in the Thane district but could not nab him there. He has been underground ever since.

For now, the NCB has clarified that Gosavi is not a part of the agency, but does admit that he is among the 10 independent witnesses during the raid.

Pune Police officials say that a lookout notice has been sent to the immigration bureau in New Delhi to stop him from fleeing the country.

Last week, Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik had alleged that Gosavi is facing multiple criminal cases. Malik also claimed that Gosavi had close links with the BJP and some NCB officials.
