PM Modi wishes speedy recovery to Sourav Ganguly; Cardiac Surgeon Devi Shetty to fly in Kolkata today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (January 3) called Sourav Ganguly and wished him a speedy recovery. Dr Devi Shetty, the famous cardiac surgeon, will join the team of doctors attending Sourav Ganguly. The doctor is scheduled to arrive in Kolkata on Monday (January 4).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (January 3) called Sourav Ganguly who underwent angioplasty after suffering a "mild" heart attack, and enquired about his health. 

The PM also spoke with Sourav Ganguly’s wife Dona Ganguly. The BCCI president and former Indian cricket team captain is admitted to a hospital in Kolkata. Narendra Modi wished him a speedy recovery.

Dr Devi Shetty, the famous cardiac surgeon, will join the team of doctors attending Sourav Ganguly. The doctor is scheduled to arrive in Kolkata on Monday (January 4).

According to hospital sources, a decision on whether to insert two more stents or do a bypass operation on Ganguly will be taken after Dr Shetty arrives.

It is learnt that a doctor from All India Institute of Medical Sciences may also join the existing team of doctors.

However, Sourav Ganguly’s condition remained stable, his vital parameters are normal and he slept well at night, a hospital statement said.
