Navjot Sidhu resigns as Rajya Sabha member, might join AAP

Former Indian cricket and BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from membership of Rajya Sabha today. Speculations are rife that Sidhu might join the Aam Admi in Party (AAP).

His resignation accepted by the RS Chairman.

 

The move by the Punjab-born cricket comes ahead of elections in the state.

 

Reports suggest that the leader is likely to join AAP.

 

In 2014 Lok Sabha election, current Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was given the ticket for prestigious Amritsar seat, sidelining the seating MP Sidhu.

 

Reports also suggest that Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur might resign as Parliamentary secretary from the Shiromani Akali Dal- Bharatiya Janata Party (SAD-BJP) government.
