Muslim World League chief is visiting India on July 10, to meet NSA Ajit Doval
Dr Al-Issa, renowned for his significant contributions in enacting progressive legislation concerning family and women's rights in Saudi Arabia while serving as the Minister of Law and Justice, will also deliver a speech focusing on the principles of moderate Islam, fostering dialogue between civilizations and promoting religious tolerance
Dr Mohammad bin Abdulkarim al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League, and a highly respected personality of the Islamic world, is visiting India on July 10 for five days. Soon after his arrival, he is scheduled to meet National Security Advisor Ajit Doval for a one-to-one meeting. Dr al-Issa will address a gathering of prominent religious and community leaders, academics, and media at the India Islamic Cultural Centre in Delhi on July 11 at 11 am. The conference is organized by Khusro Foundation. Dr al-Issa will share the dais with NSA Doval at the Khushro Foundation event.
Given his great role in reforming laws including on family and women in Saudi Arabia during his tenure as Minister of Law and Justice and Secretary General, Muslim World League, Dr al-Issa is expected to speak on moderate Islam, dialogue between civilizations, religious tolerance, intercultural communication, non-violence, and religious pluralism.
Many invitees including senior academics from various Universities are showing keen interest in the event given Dr Issa’s nuanced stance on various critical issues facing the Muslim world.
According to sources, during his visit Dr al-Issa is expected to meet Minister for External Affairs, Dr S Jaishankar, Minister for Minority Affairs Smriti Z Irani, and may also call on President, Droupadi Murmu.
He will also meet the President of ICCR and interact with a group of distinguished faith leaders at Vivekanand International Foundation. He might visit Akshardham Temple in Delhi and also meet some prominent personalities.
During his stay in Delhi, he is likely to visit Jama Masjid for Friday Prayers and Agra to see the monument of the Taj Mahal.
His engagements also include a visit to the National Police Memorial, Chanakyapuri, to pay tributes to the martyrs
He is also the Chairman of the Center for Responsible Leadership, a body of globally influential governments, faiths, media, business, and community leaders working to solve the challenges facing humanity.
