Bengaluru: Close to 3000 farmers from across Karnataka are protesting under the leadership of various farmers' organizations, placing various demands and against few government policies.

The farmers are protesting the Supreme Commandments of the Weaving Community Forces Land Acquisition Act, the APMC Act Amendment and the Power Act Amendment.

The protest march began at 11am from the Majestic railway station. More than 500 policemen have been deployed for security.

The farmers had plans to end the protest at the Freedom Park, but knowing that all the MLAs of Karnataka and the Chief Minister are having the monsoon session, the farmers have decided to extend their protest rally till the Vidhana Soudha

Farmers associations leaders Kuruboor Shanthakumar and Kodihalli Chandrasekhar are leading the protest.

More than 3000 farmers from various districts of the state are participating in the massive protest. Workers and Dalit organizations have also supported the protesters.
