MHA summons Bengal DGP, Chief Secretary after Nadda’s convoy attack in Diamond Harbour

The Union ministry of home affairs on Friday (December 11) summoned the DGP and Chief Secretary of West Bengal after JP Nadda's convoy was attacked in Bengal on Thursday (December 10).

After JP Nadda's convoy was attacked in Bengal on Thursday (December 10), the Union ministry of home affairs on Friday (December 11) summoned the DGP and Chief Secretary of West Bengal.

Stones were pelted at BJP national president J P Nadda's convoy, when it was on its way to attend an organisational meeting at Diamond Harbour area in West Bengal. BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya's car was also attacked and destroyed.

The Centre today received a report from West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankar about the incident that took place in Diamond Harbour.

according to sources, the centre will ask the DGP and Chief Secretary of West Bengal to explain the reason of the violence caused in Diamond Harbour. They will also need to explain the law and order situation in the state.

The Centre had already asked Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar to send a detailed report on the law and order situation in the state and the steps taken by the government to ensure peace.

Jagdeep Dhankar further said that chief minister Mamata Banerjee will have to follow the rules of the Constitution adding that the law and order situation has been continuously deteriorating in the state for a long period of time.
