FollowIn a shocking incident, a bar dancer and small-time model from Mumbai was beheaded by her lover.
The incident occurred at the lover's farm on the outskirts of Surat city on Tuesday, January 2.
The accused, 30-year-old Pritesh Patel entered into a relationship with Jyoti Surjeet Singh alias Nisha Jyoti, a native of Bhatinda in Punjab and a bar dancer, when he frequented the dance bar she worked in.
Times of India reported that Jyoti had come to Timba in Surat to meet him in the last week of December and they even celebrated his birthday on December 27.
Times of India quoted police saying that the two went to Mumbai on December 28 to celebrate the New Year and returned to Timba on Monday. Patel had gone to his own farm in Timba with Jyoti on Tuesday morning. Jyoti's driver Sandeep Singh and his wife were also with her. After taking Jyoti in the farm, Patel chopped off her head and escaped.
Sandeep and his wife fled from the spot fearing that Patel would attack them too and later approached police. The police caught Patel at his home in Timba.
According to TOI, Patel told the police that he had spent nearly Rs 2 crore on various expenses of Jyoti. However, he started suspecting her of having a relationship with another man.
On Tuesday, they had a heated argument over the issue and Patel chopped her head using a sickle. Patel's relationship with his wife had also got strained due to his affair with Jyoti.
