Ankit Love will compete in the race widely seen as a two-way contest between ruling Conservative party candidate Zac Goldsmith and Labour's Sadiq Khan.

"The 'One Love party' aims to convey a universal message of unity and peace for all mankind," Love said in his campaign message.

32-year-old Love is a former MTV artist who also made news last year when he declared himself the Maharaja of the Dogra dynasty of Jammu and Kashmir as the son of Bhim Singh, former chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party.

His LinkedIn profile refers to him as "HH The Emperor (Maharaja), Sovereign State of Jammu and Kashmir".

Love's party said that they would prioritise reducing air pollution in London and promote the use of driverless electric cars.

Some of his other plans include free higher level education for Londoners, building more hydrogen fuel power stations and installing solar panels in as many homes as possible.

Love's most controversial plan includes "legalising cannabis with a licence system for its purchase from licensed dispensers".

London-based Love, who grew up in Surrey, terms his party as a group of revolutionaries and is confident of winning.

"We're not politicians, we're revolutionaries and we're going to win," said Love.

He describes himself as a music artist, filmmaker and designer as the founder of Ankit Love Productions. His last single, 'Spill the Milky Way', was released in 2014.
