Thiruvananthapuram: India would be requesting UAE to hand over Fazil Fareed, the third accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case. Fareed is presently in the UAE.

As his name is added to the list of accused in the case, his extradition process may begin soon. Apart from Fareed,  Swapna Suresh, Sarith and Sandeep Nair are  listed in the gold smuggling case as accused.

Sarith was already arrested by the customs department and Swapna and Sandeep were arrested by NIA on July 11.

According to sources, Fareed had brought gold from the gulf to Kerala. Fareed, a Kodungallur native, is running a gymnasium in Dubai. He is fond of luxury cars and it is learned that his garage is filled with many high-end cars.

He is also maintaining a close relationship with many Bollywood stars.
