Karnataka girl survives on ParleG biscuits since birth

An 18-year-old girl from Karnataka has eaten only Parle-G biscuits since birth and she is just not ready to let go off this bizarre food habit. The girl, who has been identified as Ramawwa, hails from a small village in Gokak taluka in Karnataka.

Ramawwa, according to a report in the New Indian Express eats six to seven packets of Parle-G biscuits every day.   The report further says that her mother never breast fed her and her twin brother, instead, they were fed only Parle-G and cow milk. However, her brother managed to outgrow this weird food habit and now eats home cooked food as well.

But Ramawwa’s plight scares her folks to an extent where they are forced to think about what they will do once the company stops manufacturing the product.  The Lake View Hospital in the state initiated a research to find out why Ramawwa finds it so difficult to let go of the biscuits. The doctors tried their best to make her eat different foods, but she, however, refused to cooperate. The hospital authority is worried about the poor girl who lacks nutrients and looks malnourished.

Ramawwa’s case has grabbed a lot of social media attention with users trying to find out if one can survive entirely on Parle-G biscuits.  Even the doctors from Lake View Hospital said that there weren’t any other complications that the girl is suffering from other than malnourishment. They also said that there are chances that she might outgrow this habit with time and special attention.
