Karnataka drug racket: Suppliers busted in Kodagu

After Bengaluru, another drug racket was busted in Kodagu on Friday. Three men including one from Bengaluru were arrested by Kodagu Police.

Kodagu: Police arrested three men involved in drug supply in the wee hours of Friday.

It is reported that the three men were in a hotel room, and police tracked them after they received information about a gang supplying drugs at the tourist spot.

The three men have been identified as Majid, 35 and Siyab, 32 from Aiyangeri village of Kodagu district and 31-year-old Muzamil from Shivajinagar in Bengaluru.

It is suspected that these men brought the supplies into the district from Bengaluru.

Kodagu SP Kshama Mishra stated that the department has seized 300gm of MDMA which is also known as ecstasy worth Rs 7.5 lakh and a car from the three men.

While police personnel easily caught hold of these three, another group of five men were chased down by officials.

The group of five men were heading towards Kushalnagar from Madikeri when Kodagu Police caught hold of them.

Police suspect that the gang had links with foreign mafias as one of the five men who were caught later was a foreigner.
