Jammu and Kashmir: 28 shops, house gutted in fire
At least 28 shops and a house were gutted in a fire in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. The fire broke out in a shop apparently due to a short circuit and within no time engulfed other shops in the market.
Ramban: A major fire destroyed property worth crores of rupees, 28 shops and a house in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, the fire erupted in the main market in Khari, 16km from Banihal town, at around 10:45pm on Friday.
In a one-and-a-half-hour rescue operation, fire and emergency services personnel put out the blaze. The report added that the Army personnel from the nearby camp and local residents also joined the fire-fighting operation.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered and further investigation is on.
Locals also protested over the administration’s alleged failure to provide a fire station in Tehsil.
The protesters dispersed peacefully after the local tehsildar's assurance that their demand would be brought to the notice of appropriate quarters.
