Police in Jaipur have registered cross-FIRs from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and villagers after a violent clash. An investigation is underway, with the CJP alleging a planned attack and the BJP accusing them of politicizing the issue.
Jaipur South DCP Rajarshi Raj Verma on Saturday said that police have registered FIRs from both sides in connection with a dispute involving the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and villagers.
Cross-FIRs Filed, Probe On
Speaking to ANI, DCP Verma said that two separate cases have been registered based on complaints received from both parties. "FIRs have been lodged by both sides--by the CJP as well as the villagers. Two separate cases have been registered based on the information provided by both parties," he said.
He further said that the police investigation is underway and statements of the concerned individuals are being recorded. "The investigation has just begun; statements are being recorded. Further action in accordance with the law will be taken based on the evidence that emerges," DCP Verma added.
Political Blame Game Erupts
This comes after tensions escalated sharply in Rajasthan's education sector, following a violent confrontation in Rampura Kanwarpura, Jaipur district, where a visiting delegation of the CJP was allegedly ambushed.
Earlier, Andhra Pradesh BJP spokesperson Shaik Baji on Saturday accused the CJP of acting as an agent of the Congress party, alleging that the organisation was politicising the Rampura Kanwarpura incident in Rajasthan and blowing the issue out of proportion. He claimed that the CJP only raises issues that suit its agenda and does not take action on matters like paper leaks and employment-related concerns in other states.
CJP Alleges Planned Attack
CJP activist Ashutosh Ranka on Saturday alleged a planned attack by "goons brought from outside," claiming they were seen with Bagru MLA Kailash Verma hours before the violence and accused the police of remaining absent despite repeated calls.
Speaking to ANI, Ranka said, "The incident that took place yesterday, the assault and violence, goons were brought in from outside. We have already shared photographs of all these individuals on Twitter today. These very people were seen sitting with Kailash Verma, the local MLA, the previous night. The same individuals who engaged in hooliganism in the morning had been sitting with Kailash Verma the night before. It is quite evident that this was a highly coordinated, planned attack; the nature of the stones used suggests they were prepared to kill."
