Politicians have repeatedly tried to justify violence against women through various illogical statements. Schools, colleges have imposed rules to stop intermingling of the two genders. Perhaps this is the only way to ensure that women in India are safe.

Let’s agree not to disagree and for once to agree with all those authorities, groups, voices, individuals who are asserting from time to time that intermingling of sexes leads to gender violence and that man and woman should be kept away from each other. Let’s just accept that ‘western culture’, ‘chowmein’, ‘clothes’, ‘provocation’, ‘skin show’, ‘men will be men’ are the reasons behind growing number of violence against women in India.
Also, let’s accept all the ridiculous rules imposed by school and college authorities to ensure that the girls stay safe and no violence is committed against them. Let’s take that ripped jeans or jeans causes trouble, female students should not sit next to male students, canteen should have separate area dividing male and female students, and romantic ringtones on phones can excite male students and so on and so forth.

Why should we accept this? Because, clearly we have accepted that Indian society is a monumental failure in teaching its men how to treat women, and what is possibly wrong and possibly right to do in a certain situation.
The ones who are trying to impose illogical rules and giving ridiculous explanations for growing number of crimes against women are people from previous generations meaning they are the ones responsible for raising kids of this criminal generation. These are the people who rather than accepting their own responsibilities are trying to justify barbaric crimes by imposing rules and making statements.

Various data published by different governmental as well as non-governmental agencies shows the shocking rise in the number of the offences committed against women every year in India. Such alarming numbers of crimes calls for immediate action by law and order enforcement agencies as well as active measures by the members of society, meaning people living in so-called civil society.
But, since initiating any of these measures require proactive actions by the Indian society – a society that is more divided than united – at large, so it is convenient to paint every female as a potential victim and every male as a potential criminal and place them in two separate territories.

Also, since Indian society cannot save our current generation, it most definitely cannot protect the future generation and therefore, the only way to protect the females and males living in India are by creating separate territories for each, and by banning one gender from entering the territory of the other gender.
