Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala electricity minister MM Mani tested positive for novel coronavirus. The 75-year-old minister has been shifted to hospital.
MM Mani is the fourth minister to test positive for COVID-19 in the Pinarayi Vijayan led LDF government. Mani joins other ministers such as Thomas Isaac, EP Jayarajan, VS Sunil Kumar who have tested positive for coronavirus.
Kerala reported 7,871 new COVID-19 cases and 25 deaths due to the virus on October 6. The state now has 87,738 active cases. Kerala has also reported 4,981 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

India's COVID-19 tally sprinted past 67 lakh with 72,049 fresh cases in a span of 24 hours, while over 57 lakh people have recovered from the disease so far, according to the Union health ministry's data updated on Wednesday.
