Gandhinagar: On September 21, the Gujarat Assembly began its five-day session amid precautions for the coronavirus outbreak.

After testing for the novel coronavirus, staffers, legislators and mediapersons were allowed to enter the session. According to reports, outsiders have been banned for the sessions.

Meanwhile, four MLAs have tested positive for COVID-19. They are three MLAs from Congress and one from BJP.

Rajendra Trivedi, Speaker asked for change in seating arrangement of legislators with one MLA occupying one bench, while several legislators have been given seats in the visitors' galleries.

The state government also made the coronavirus tests for reporters covering the House proceedings free of cost.

In the sessions, there will be no question hour as top officials in the administration are on tour state-wide to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

But the legislators can raise short notice questions to seek answers from the government.

The Vijay Rupani government had earlier announced that some 20 bills will be tabled during the session.
