CM Kejriwal sacks AAP minister Sandeep Kumar over sex tape

Delhi Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal, on Wednesday evening, received a package consisting of a compact disc (CD) and in 30 minutes Kejriwal tweeted that he was sacking the youngest minister in his cabinet, Sandeep Kumar.

 

 

 

What made the CM take such a drastic step was a nine-minute video which showed Sandeep Kumar in "a compromising position with two women". The CD also included 11 photographs along with the video.

 

The video and the photographs were also leaked to some TV channels last evening.

 

A meeting was called immediately at the Chief Minister's bungalow on Flagstaff Road which went on till late in the night. They held the meeting to decide on the further action and also who would replace Kumar who was assigned the Women and Child Development, Language and SC & ST portfolio.

 

"AAP has a zero tolerance policy towards corruption, scandals... Ministers found taking bribes were removed immediately as soon as it was found. Action will be taken swiftly against any member irrespective of status or position," Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said.

 

 

Former AAP members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan claimed that they had warned Kejriwal about several candidates who were contesting the Delhi elections last year.

 

"Chief Minister Kejriwal must resign for burdening Delhi with the most morally corrupt cabinet. Three out of six ministers removed in last one year and dozens of MLAs booked," said BJP leader Vijendra Gupta.

 

This is the third time Kejriwal sacked one of his own ministers in past 19 months during which AAP has been ruling in Delhi. The previous year, Kejriwal sacked food minister Asim Ahmed Khan for allegedly demanding bribe and law minister Jitender Tomar who allegedly faked his college degree.

 

"I touch my wife's feet every morning," Sandeep Kumar had said after taking oath as the cabinet minister.
