BJP leader Akhilesh Khandelwal, whos is also the chairman of the local civic body in Madhya Pradesh, claimed that Bhansali has distorted historical facts while shooting Padmavati. He was trying to shoot a romantic scene between Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) and Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) and that is how the protests started.

Few member of Karni Sena demanded that the name of the film should be changed. The CEO Bhansali Productions Shobha Sant stated that such a demand never came up in any of the meetings before.

"They have made this fresh demand for which I have nothing to say anything. This is not in my jurisdiction. They also did not raise this point in our discussion held before," Sant told Indian Express.

"There is no romantic dream sequence or any objectionable/ romantic scene between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khijli. It was not a part of the script. It was misconception and considering the sentiments of the community, we have clarified to them."

Bhansali productions in the meanwhile have come out with a statement that they do not want to hurt any sentiments and has requested all social organisations to support them to make the film. They apparently have even agreed that there will be no intimate scene between Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji.

Giriraj Singh of Rajput Sabha had demanded to form a screening committee before the release of the film and that is yet to be fulfilled. It is to be seen whether Bhansali actually can complete the shooting of his much-anticipated film – Padmavati.
