Babri Masjid is just a building, students depicted history: Senior RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar
RSS man has been booked for making Karnataka school students re-enact Babri Masjid demolition. Bantwal Police booked four persons including senior RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar under IPC sections 295A and 298.
Mangaluru: The Karnataka Police have registered a case against Srirama Vidyakendra High School authorities in Dakshina Kannada district under IPC sections 295A and 298 after a video of students demolishing a replica of the Babri Masjid went viral on social media sites.
Dakshina Kannada Police have named RSS leader and trustee of the school Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Narayan Somayyaji, Vasanth Madhav and Chinnappa Kotiyan in the FIR registered under Sections 295A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and 298 (Uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person) of the Indian Penal Code.
The complaint was filed by Aboobacker Siddique, a PFI activist and resident of the same area as the school’s.
A video of students of Sri Rama Vidyakendra High School in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka demolishing a replica of the Babri Masjid during their school function went viral and courted controversy.
Students performed a mock-up of the Babri Masjid demolition during a flash-flood lighting ceremony and shouted slogans such as 'Ram Mandir Wahi Banegi' and 'Jai Sriram'.
The school is owned by RSS leader and the organisation's south-central region executive committee member, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, who is a powerful RSS leader in the coastal belt of Karnataka.
Kalladka Prabhakar said that he felt nothing was wrong in showcasing a play on what he believes is a historical event. “It is just a building. It is a historical event that we are depicting and we depict such incidents every year. We have depicted surgical strikes as well as Mangalyaan mission. Some media houses are twisting facts. We have also depicted execution of Afzal Guru and Kasab as well. The students are just depicting the incidents in history and this year Ayodhya verdict was the main event so this was depicted,” he added.
"
However, the RSS organisation downplayed the incident and said it has nothing to do with the incident that took place at the school.
Rajesh, an RSS leader said, “Ayodhya verdict is one of the historical verdicts witnessed in the country. Firstly, the students didn’t demolish a replica of the Babri Masjid, they just depicted what happened in history. The students were depicting history during which the 1992 incident (Babri Masjid demolition) took place. It’s not true that there was a demolition and secondly the students only performed realistic history and narration. The school has nothing to do with the RSS and the case has been booked against RSS senior leader Kalladaka Prabhakar because, he is one of the members of the management."
