Taking a clear stand on the RBI governor’s extension debate, the cute Amul girl is seen standing on a coin with the current RBI governor with a caption above them which says “Let Raghuramin!” “Second helping please!”
The whole controversy broke out when BJP MP Subramaniam Swamy slammed Raghuram Rajan for his decision to increase interest rates. He wrote a letter to the Prime Minister saying that "I don't think he is fit for the country. His decision to increase interest rates to reduce inflation and stabilise the economy has backfired and severely affected the nation. All the industries have collapsed and as a result unemployment has increased.”
He further said that Raghu should be packed and sent back to Chicago at the earliest.
Also, a petition seeking for a term extension for the current RBI governor has gone viral with thousands of signatures.
