The safety features are apparently foolproof with a number of small changes.
The new note will be circulated under the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series.

All you need to know about the Rs 200 note

The introduction of Rs 200 is much more than an added cuurency to the Indian denomination. Expected to be in circulation from tomorrow, the currency note certainly is an addition to the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series tomorrow. However, it has already gained popularity as it is expected to address the liquidity issue and also reduce the burden on Rs 100 note.

RBI, in a statement, said, "The Reserve Bank of India will issue on August 25, Rs 200 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series, bearing signature of Dr. Urjit R. Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India from select RBI offices, and some banks."

On the other side of the note is the motif of India's cultural heritage site Sanchi Stupa. The base colour is bright yellow and the note has designs, patterns and motifs in sync with the overall colour scheme on both the sides. This note will fulfill the shortage of small changes after the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. RBI also expects the new note to be very popular as there are no other small denominations between Rs 100 and Rs 500.

Things that you need to know about the Rs 200 note

On the front, one can see:

The denomination 200 will be written in Devanagiri
The piortrait of Mahatma Gandhi will be at the Centre
Micro letters 'RBI', 'Bharat' (in Devanagiri) and '200' will be inscribed.
Denominational numeral with the rupees symbol, Rs 200 in colour changing ink (green to blue) will be present in the bottom right.
Guarantee clause, Governor's signature with Promise Clause and the RBI emblem can be seen toward the right of Mahatma Gandhi portrait.
Mahatma Gandhi portrait and electrotype (200) watermark can also be seen.
Ashoka Pillar emblem can be seen on the right.
Number panels with numerals growing from small to big on the top left side and the bottom right side can be seen.
The security threat will be windowed and inscriptions of 'Bharat' (in Devanagiri) and RBI will be thereon it. The colour of the thread will change from green to blue when the note is tilted.
Intaglio or raised printing of Mahatma Gandhi portrait, Ashoka Pillar emblem, raised Identification mark H with micro-text ₹200, four angular bleed lines with two circles in between the lines both on the right and left sides have been provided for the For visually impaired.
