Centre sanctions ₹5 lakh compensation for cross border casualties
The Union Government has declared that henceforth families of those who are killed in cross border tensions will be compensated with ₹5 lakh.
The compensation limit has been raised from the existing ₹3 lakh cut to ₹5 lakh.
It has been decided that monetary relief will be provided to families of those who have succumbed to naxalite attacks, shoot-outs, bombing and terror attacks.
The Home ministry has revealed that those who above 50% physical disabilities are entitled for ₹5 lakh compensation. But authorities had ruled out any assurance of providing a government job to the aggrieved family members.
