24-year-old woman dies in bike accident in Gundlupet while returning to Kerala after Dussehra celebration

A Wayanad native Ashley Sabu died in a bike accident while returning from Mysore after the Dussehra celebration on Monday (Oct 23) night. The bike reportedly lost control and overturned.

Wayanad: A native of Kerala's Wayanad met a tragic end in a bike accident in Gundlupet. Ashley Sabu (24), daughter of Meenangadi resident Sabu, died in an accident in Maddur village of Gundlupet in Karnataka. The accident happened on National Highway 766. Eyewitnesses said that the accident happened around 8 pm on Monday when the bike lost control and overturned.

The co-passenger was injured in the mishap. Ashley and the youth were returning to Wayanad from Mysore after celebrating Dussehra.

Ashley, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to a private hospital in Batheri, but her life could not be saved. Ashley Sabu's body will be handed over to relatives today after post-mortem at Bathery Taluk Hospital.

Meanwhile, a woman died in a road accident on the National Highway at Madapally in Vadakara of Kozhikode district. The deceased is Saliya (60). The accident occurred when the tempo traveller fell into a gorge on Tuesday (Oct 24) morning. As many as 12 people were injured. Three people were admitted to Kozhikode Medical Hospital and one is in critical condition. The other injured are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Vadakara.
