Jodhpur: In Rajasthan's Jodhpur district, 11 members of a family of Pakistani Hindu migrants were found dead at a farm.

A member of the family, however, was found alive outside the hut they lived at in Lodta village of Dechu area, an officer said.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rahul Barhat said the person who was found alive said that he had no recollection of the incident, which is believed to have happened in the night.

Barhat added that police are yet to ascertain the cause of deaths.  In the initial investigation, police found that the members appeared to have committed suicide by consuming some chemical in the night.

He said there was a smell of some chemical around in the hut, suggesting that they consumed something.

All the family members were Hindu migrants from Pakistan from the Bhil community and had been living on the farm in the village, which they had hired.

No injury marks or any evidence of any foul play from the spot has, reportedly, been found.

The SP added that they have roped in the forensic team and a dog squad to arrive at a conclusion. Preliminary information indicated that there was some dispute in the family over some issue. Once we interrogate the survivor, we would be in a position to find out what led to this incident", he said.
