Coronavirus: India’s active cases tally declines to 4.3 lakh; recovery rate sours to 97.28%
India reported 31,443 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The number of new daily infections is the lowest in 118 days.
India on Tuesday reported as many as 31,443 new coronavirus infections, the lowest in 118 days, informed the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll climbed to 4,10,784 with 2020 fresh fatalities. The case fatality rate stands at 1.32%, the data stated.
India’s active caseload of Covid-19 cases is at 4,31,315. The active cases constitute 1.46% of the total cases.
A total of 49,007 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s cumulative recoveries total to 3,00,63,720.
The active cases comprise 1.46% of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 97.28%, the data updated at 8 am showed.
The daily positivity rate stands at 1.81%. It has remained less than 3% for 22 consecutive days. The weekly positivity rate is currently at 2.28%.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 17,40,325 tests were conducted on Monday, taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far to 43,40,58,138.
India has administered 38,14,67,646 vaccine doses so far with 40,65,862 jabs given in the last 24 hours.
