Coronavirus: India sees lowest daily COVID cases in 4 months; recoveries soar to 97.37%
Daily Covid-19 cases in the country fell below the 30,000-mark on Monday to its lowest count in 125 days while the death toll from the virus dipped to a 111-day low of 373.
India on Tuesday reported 30,093 new Covid-19 cases, lowest in 125 days, taking the tally to 3,11,74,322 cases, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data.
As per the 9 am data, India reported 30,093 new Covid-19 cases and 374 fatalities (the lowest in 111 days) in 24 hours.
India's Covid caseload has surged to 3,11,74,322 and death toll has jumped to 4,14,482, so far. The case fatality rate stands at 1.33%, the data stated.
The number of recoveries now stands at 3,03,53,710 across the country. The overall recovery rate for Covid in India has now increased to 97.37%.
While the weekly positivity rate -- 2.06% -- remains below 5%, the daily figure has stayed below 3% for 29 consecutive days now.
As many as 17,92,336 tests were conducted on Monday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of Covid-19 in the country to 44,73,41,133.
Cumulative vaccine doses administered so far have reached 41.18 crore under the nationwide vaccination drive.
