Coronavirus: India sees declining trend with 1.86 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, lowest in 44 days
Decline in daily new cases continues, with the lowest number, 1.86 lakh, since April 14 recorded yesterday.
India continued to register a declining trend in fresh Covid-19 cases reporting 1,86,364 new cases today, while the recoveries continue to outnumber daily cases for the 15th consecutive day, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
A total of 1,86,364 new coronavirus infections were reported in a day, the lowest in around 44 days, taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 2,75,55,457. The death toll climbed to 3,18,895 with 3,660 daily deaths, the data updated at 8 am showed.
As per the Union Health Ministry, active cases decreased by 76,755 in the last 24 hours.
With 2,59,459 patient recoveries reported during the last 24 hours, a total of 2,48,93,410 patients have recovered in the country so far. The recovery rate increased to 90.34% while the weekly positivity rate is currently at 10.42% and the daily positivity rate at 9.00%, less than 10 per cent for 4 consecutive days.
The daily Covid-19 count in India last fell below the 2-lakh mark on May 25. Also, 20,70,508 tests were conducted on Thursday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of Covid-19 in the country to 33,90,39,861.
A total of 20.57 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far, said the Union Health Ministry.
