Coronavirus: India’s daily positivity rate less than 3% for 20 straight days; 41,506 new cases
India on Monday reported 37,154 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, pushing the country's caseload to 3,08,74,376.
India reported 37,154 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, slightly lower than yesterday, informed the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
The country also added 895 deaths on Monday taking the tally to 4.7 lakh fatalities since the pandemic began early last year.
Active Covid cases have declined to 4.54 lakh in India - the infections are going down each day. Active cases constitute 1.47% of total infections.
Over 41,000 patients recovered in the last 24 hours taking total recoveries so far to over 2.99 crore.
The recovery rate has now increased to 97.20%. The daily positivity rate is at 2.25% - less than 3% for 20 straight days in a major sign of relief.
A total of 43,23,17,813 samples have been tested for the Covid-19 disease so far of which 14,32,343 were tested in the previous 24 hours, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Monday.
India commenced its Covid-19 vaccination drive on January 16 this year. Till date, 37,73,52,501 vaccine doses have been administered so far including 12,35,287 in the last 24 hours, under the nationwide vaccination drive.
