Coronavirus: India reports slight rise in daily infections with 38,353 new COVID-19 cases

The number of new Covid-19 cases increased to 38,353 in the last 24 hours, a rise of over 10,000 from Monday when India reported 28,204 infections, the lowest in 147 days.

The country's active caseload stands at 3,86,351, the lowest in 140 days, the Ministry data showed., The number of active cases declined by 2,157 in the last 24 hours.

The country registered a total of 40,013 discharges on Tuesday, taking the total recovery rate to around 97.45%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research data, 48,50,56,507 samples were tested up to August 10 for Covid-19. Of these, 17,77,962 samples were tested on Tuesday.

India has administered 41,38,646 doses in the last 24 hours, which took the cumulative tally of doses administered to 51,90,80,524.
