Coronavirus: India reports 91,702 cases, 3403 deaths; recoveries continue to outnumber daily cases
Daily cases have fallen below 1 lakh in India over the last few days. The country, however, is still reporting the most cases globally.
India reported 91,702 new cases of Covid-19, the lowest single-day rise in infections in around two months, taking the infection tally to 2,92,74,823, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday morning.
With 3,403 more deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has climbed to 3,63,079. On Thursday, India registered a record daily rise of 6,148 deaths from Covid.
Meanwhile, active caseload has further declined to 1,121,671. Recovery rate has increased to 94.93%. A total of 1,34,580 patients were discharged yesterday, taking the total recovery numbers to 27,790,073.
According to data, the weekly positivity rate stands at 5.14% while the daily positivity rate at 4.49% and remained below 10% for the 18th consecutive days now.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said as many as 37,42,42,384 samples were tested for Covid-19 so far and that out of which 20,44,131 samples were tested on Thursday.
As many as 24,60,85,649 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered across the country so far, the health ministry's dashboard also showed.
