Coronavirus: India reports 60,471 new cases, lowest in 75 days; sees 2726 deaths in 24 hours
India on Tuesday reported 60,471 new cases, lowest after 75 days, as per health ministry's updated data.
On Tuesday India reported 60,471 fresh Covid-19 cases, the lowest in 75 days according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
In another relief, the number of new deaths has gone below 3,000-mark. In the last 24 hours, the country reported 2,726 deaths, bringing the total death count to 3,77,031.
Meanwhile, recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 33rd consecutive day, as India witnessed 1,17,525 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said. The recovery tally of India has reached 2,82,80,472.
The number of active cases of Covid-19 in India, which had swelled to over 37.2 lakh at the height of the second wave, has fallen below 10 lakh after 66 days.
Weekly positivity rate has dropped to 4.39%. Daily positivity rate is at 3.45%, which is less than 5% for 8 consecutive days, according to ministry data.
A total of 38,13,75,984 samples have been tested for Covid so far. Of these, 17,51,358 samples were tested yesterday, according to ICMR.
The Health Ministry said that a total of 25,90,44,072 people have been vaccinated so far in the country, including 39,27,154 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours.
