Coronavirus: India reports 30,256 new COVID-19 cases; Kerala contributes 19,653 cases

The active infections in the country reached a six-month low with 3.18 lakh cases across the country.

India registered 30,256 new Covid-19 cases and 295 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the data updated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The country's cumulative Covid-19 caseload now stands at 3,34,78,419 and death toll at 4,45,133.

The active cases declined to 3,18,181, with a reduction of 13,977 cases in the last 24 hours. Lowest since March, active cases tally accounts for 0.95% of total cases. Kerala continues to be the leading contributor with 19,653 infections.

A total of 43,938 patients recovered from Covid-19, pushing the total recoveries to 3,27,15,105 across the country, the Ministry said. The country’s recovery rate now stands at 97.72%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, a total of 11,77,607 samples were tested on Sunday. A total of 55,36,21,766 samples have been tested up to September 19 for Covid-19.

Under the nationwide vaccination drive, 80,85,68,144 vaccine doses have been administered so far. Of which, 37,78,296 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday.
