Coronavirus: India logs 5.7% lower fresh COVID cases than yesterday with 15,981 new infections
India reported 15,981 new Covid-19 cases and 166 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Saturday.
India on Saturday logged 15,981 fresh Covid-19 cases and 166 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data. With this the country's total case tally rose to 3,40,53,573 and the country's cumulative death toll to 4,51,980.
The active case tally has dropped to 2.01 lakh - the lowest in 218 days with the addition of new cases in the last 24 hours. Active cases account for just 0.61% of the total cases.
As many as 17,861 Covid-19 patients recuperated during this period, taking the country's total recoveries to 3,33,99,961, the ministry stated. India's recovery rate stands at 98.06%, which is highest since March 2020.
So far, India has administered 97,23,77,045 vaccine doses across the country. Of these, 8,36,118 were administered in the last 24 hours, under the nationwide vaccination drive.
