Coronavirus: India clocks massive spike of 46,164 new COVID-19 cases

India reports 46,164 new Covid-19 cases, 34,159 recoveries and 607 deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

India recorded a massive spike of 46,164 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours out of which, over 31,000 were from Kerala.

With this, the overall tally of Covid-19 cases in the country has gone up to 32,558,530, according to data updated by the Union Health Ministry at 9 am. The country also witnessed 607 deaths, taking the death toll to 436,365.

While the active cases jumped to 3,33,725, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The active cases comprise 1.03%of the total infections.

With 34,159 more people discharged in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries surged to 3,17,88,440. The national recovery rate currently stands at 97.63%.
