Coronavirus: India adds 39,742 new COVID-19 cases; active cases marginally decline

India on Sunday reported 39,742 new Covid-19 cases and 535 related deaths in the last 24 hours. So far, the country has recorded over 3,13,71,901 confirmed Covid-19 cases, including 4,20,551 deaths.

The active cases show a marginal decline. There are 4,08,212 active Covid-19 cases in the country, which comprises 1.34% of the total caseload, the data stated.

The total recoveries from the disease increased to 3,05,43,138 with 39,972 patients having recovered during the last 24 hours. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.36%.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in India has crossed 42.78 crore, according to the Union Health Ministry.
