Cristiano Ronaldo to return to Manchester United in swap deal with Juventus?

Cristiano Ronaldo is a modern-day Portuguese football legend who is currently playing for Juventus. Ronaldo rose to fame during his stint with Manchester United before moving to Real Madrid, where he got even better and cemented his legacy as a modern-day great.

Portuguese football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo continues to justify his tag of being a modern-day great with each passing game and the goals he scores. Currently playing for Italian champion Juventus, Ronaldo has had an average stint so far.

Notably, barring domestic success, Ronaldo has failed to deliver at the European stage, with Juventus getting knocked out in the pre-quarters of the UEFA Champions League this season. With a year still in his contract left, he has already been linked to a move away from Turin.

A return to Real Madrid or Manchester United is on the cards for Ronaldo. Furthermore, new reports from Italy suggest that United could be contemplating a move to bring in its wonderboy back to Old Trafford, provided it happens to be a swap deal with Juventus for Paul Pogba, reports Calciomercato.

United has managed to seal its UCL spot next season following its impressive 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Therefore, this is likely to solidify United's chance to pursue the Portuguese if it indeed wishes to have him back.

Like Ronaldo, Pogba has had an average stint in United since he joined during the 2016-17 season. The Frenchman had a great time in Turin, where he managed to win eight titles, including four Serie A championships.

As for Ronaldo, he is struggling to lead his side even to Serie A glory this season. Meanwhile, he had a terrific stint in United, scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances, including nine title wins and also won a Ballon d'Or recognition.

Ronaldo's stint at United gave him the acceptance before Madrid came calling in 2009 with a then-record fee of €94 million. His move to Los Blancos turned out to be a wonder, as he cemented became a GOAT of the sport.
