Holi is here, and what's better than hogging on some delicious sweets to double up the fun of the festival of colours. Here are 7 dishes you can make at home and enjoy the festival to the fullest.
Chocolate gujiya
Give a twist to traditional gujiyas by adding the flavour of chocolate. Gujiyas are sweet dumplings made of maida or flour filled with khoya and dry fruit mixture. You can garnish the dumplings with chocolate sauce and whipped cream to make it chocolaty and yummy.
Oreo chocolate laddo
Grind the mixture of oreo cookies after separating the cream. Then add some condensed milk to the biscuit powder and make a dough. Add sugar to the white cream mixture and knead it well. Now make small balls of the chocolate mixture and insert cream balls inside and give it a round shape. Decorate it with dry fruits and nuts.
Thandai
A popular Holi staple. Its a fennel-fragrant concoction. Add the soaked nuts in a blender and add fennel seeds, black pepper, cinnamon, saffron and rose petals. Make a coarse paste of all the ingredients and then add milk and blend. Blend it till smooth. You can also add gulkand in your thandai.
Kulfi
All you need is to blend condensed milk, cream, dry fruits and saffron and keep the mixture in a kulfi mould to refrigerate. Voila your cooling dessert for Holi is ready.
Mango ice cream
What's better then using mango this summer seaon than using it for making delicious ice cream. Blend condensed milk, cream, mango pulp and sugar and refrigerate it to enjoy during Holi.
Coconut barfi
Take some grated coconut and add condensed milk and add your favourite food colouring to make it colourful. Spread the mixture across the plate and cut the mithai in square shape with proper width and voila its ready.
