Hair care: This detangling hack can help you save up on serum
What if you just want to detangle your locks before a hair wash or in between washes and don't want to use your serum for it? Here’s a solution.
Does detangling your hair make you use up most of your serum? It's true that the best way to remove knots and run a comb smoothly through your hair for smooth and silky locks is best done when aided with a hair serum but what if you just want to detangle your locks before a hair wash or in between washes and don't want to use your serum for it?
Hair serums are amazing products that will have your hair looking shiny and feeling smooth, so you apply it every time you have to go out or if you need to control frizz right before an important meeting.
Using hair serum just before a hair wash though might seem like a waste of product as it will just get washed off and you will have to reapply it post hair wash too, but what other choice do you have? Well, this detangling hack sans serum is something that will help remove knots just as easily without causing much breakage.
Wet Hair: To begin detangling your hair before a hair wash, it is best to first wet the hair. Many curly hair girls will sing praises for wet hair detangling, but really everyone should get in on this. Wet hair detangling causes lesser breakage and will have whatever detangling product you are using on your strands do its job much better. Use a water hair spray to dampen your locks well. Then proceed to the next step.
Condition: Instead of serum, reach for your trusted hair conditioner. Retrieve it from your bathroom and pour out a small dollop in your palm. Rub your hands together to spread it and then get all that product into your wet hair evenly. Do not apply it to your scalp. Hair conditioner will coat your strands and let you glide the comb across to detangle with ease. The knots and frizz will both be taken care of with this step, and you will be washing it off in the shower anyway. Those with unruly hair textures might find this a great way to tame their locks in between washes too for like third day hair.
Detangle: After you've got your hair wet and applied hair conditioner to it, use a wet brush or wide toothed comb to detangle your locks. Start from the ends and then your roots to further minimise breakage. If your hair got a little dry while applying the conditioner, wet it once again with the water hair spray before running your comb through the lengths.
