West Bengal: Vidyasagar Online Portal launched in Purulia to provide education to students in remote areas
From now on, the meritorious students in the rural areas of Purulia will not be deprived of higher education. Students from remote villages will fulfil their dreams of becoming a doctor or engineer. Vidyasagar Portal was launched amidst the COVID-19 situation based on the initiative of the district administration. Through this portal, students will be able to take online classes at home. Prominent teachers of Purulia Ramakrishna Mission are taking classes on this online portal. Videos on every subject including Mathematics, Science, History, Physics, Biology, etc. have been uploaded on the Vidyasagar portal. District Magistrate Rahul Majumder was present at the inauguration of the portal.
Education has been greatly hampered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meritorious students are facing obstacles for higher education in the marginal districts of the state. The district administration launched Vidyasagar Portal for the online education of those meritorious students who belong to the remote villages of Purulia.
District Magistrate Rahul Majumder inaugurated the Vidyasagar portal on Vidyasagar's birthday (September 26). This portal has uploaded videos on every subject including history, mathematics, chemistry, physics.
Two students took the first online class on Vidyasagar portal. Shatarupa Soren and Mili Mandi of Eklavya Model School in Kotashila are very happy to be able to take online classes for the first time. Their wish is to be able to obtain higher education.
WiFi has been installed in Kanyashree Bhavan so that this portal for study can reach every corner of Purulia. Prominent teachers of Purulia Ramakrishna Mission will take classes on this portal.
A total of 180 classes will be there on Vidyasagar online portal. Of these, 60 videos on various topics have already been uploaded. The teachers said that the students who want to study medicine and engineering will be highly benefited through this portal.
