Kolkata: Robot inaugurates Durga puja theme at Thakurpukur SB Park
For the very first time, a robot will be seen at Durga puja in Kolkata. At 11 am on Saturday (September 26), the robot inaugurated the theme of this year's puja at the Thakurpukur SB Park Public Durga Festival Committee ground.
A robot was seen at the entrance of the pandal. If people forget to use sanitiser while entering the pandal, this robot will give visitors sanitiser by hand.
On Saturday (September 26), the residents of Thakurpukur SB Park got a glimpse of the extraordinary technology. This year, the theme of their puja was inaugurated by the robot. This robot will welcome visitors during Durga puja.
Sanjay Majumder, secretary of the SB Park Pujo Committee, said, "I tried to convey the message of physical distancing in order to protect ourselves from human touch in the COVID situation."
Sanjay Babu claims that a robot has never been used in any puja pandals of Kolkata, Bengal, or India. Interestingly, the robot was made by the students of Bengal Engineering College.
Thakurpukur SB Park Public Durga Festival Committee members believe that this robot will be of great help to handle the puja crowd this year. It will also ensure that people use sanitizer before entering the pandal.
