'Dekho Apna Desh': IRCTC to launch special tourist train for exploring North Eastern states; details inside
According to an IRCTC official, the firm intends to run a special tourist train in the country's Northeastern state for the first time. This voyage will begin at Delhi's Safdarjung railway station.
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation will introduce a special tourist train to explore five North-Eastern states as part of the Dekho Apna Desh programme. The 14-night and 15-day trains will transport travellers to regions distant from the madding crowd and to unspoiled, undiscovered, and inconceivable locales. An IRCTC representative stated that Dekho Apna Desh AC Deluxe Tourist Train would help the passenger have a great trip of northeast discovery beyond Guwahati.
According to an IRCTC official, the firm intends to run a special tourist train in the country's Northeastern state for the first time. This voyage will begin at Delhi's Safdarjung railway station. It would include stops at Guwahati, Kaziranga, and Johnhart in Assam, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, Kohima in Nagaland, Una Koti, Agartala, and Udaipur in Tripura, and Shillong and Cherapunji in Meghalaya.
Tourists may board this train in the railway stations of Delhi Safdarjung, Ghaziabad, Tundla, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Patna. On November 26, the train will depart from Delhi's Safdarjung Station.
The journey has been created with the interests of all types of travellers in mind. A Jungle Safari in Kaziranga National Park in Assam and a track on the Root Bridge in Meghalaya are included in the programme to provide maximum adventure. According to an IRCTC spokesperson, passengers on this train would also have the opportunity to visit the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam, and the Tripur Sundari Temple in Tripura.

According to the official, a visit of the Assam tea estates and a cruise on the Brahmaputra River are also planned for nature enthusiasts. History buffs would enjoy visiting the Una Koti Sculptures, Ujjayanta Palace, and Neermahal Palace in Tripura.
The vacation costs Rs 85,495 per person for two AC rooms and Rs 1,02,430 per person for one AC room, according to IRCTC. According to rules published by the Ministry of Finance, government/PSU workers are eligible for LTC on this visit.
Passengers will be supplied with luxury-class amenities such as great meals, an air-conditioned bus tour of tourist attractions, accommodations in premium hotels, a guide, and insurance, among other things. However, only individuals who have been wholly vaccinated will be permitted to board the train.
