Dilip Ghosh throws challenge to Mamata Banerjee
BJP Bengal chief Dilip Ghosh has thrown a 10,000 farmer rally challenge in Kolkata to chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
The BJP leader also promised to showcase five times that number at their own rally, underlining that the farmers are with the party.
Dilip Ghosh said, “I am challenging Mamata Banerjee to gather 10,000 farmers and organise a rally in Kolkata. If they can do it, we will organise a rally of 50,000 farmers in the state. The farmers are supporting Narendra Modi.”
“The farmers in the state are not in favour of Mamata Banerjee and her party. She prefers to send her leaders to meet agitating farmers stationed at Delhi borders but does not allow any protest rally in the state,” he added.
On Wednesday (December 23), Mamata Banerjee sent five TMC leaders to meet the farmers at Singhu border to support their protest against the newly passed agriculture bill.
The CM also spoke to the farmers and assured them of her support in their protest.
