TMC MLA Dipak Haldar resigns from party
TMC MLA of Diamond Harbour Dipak Haldar on Monday (Fenruary 1) resigned from the party. He blamed the party for not allowing him to work for the people.
<p>Dipak Halder said, “I am a two-time MLA. But since 2017, I am not allowed to work properly for the masses. Despite informing the leadership, no action was taken to improve the situation.”<br /> </p>

<p>“I am answerable to the people of my constituency and supporters. So, I have decided to quit the party. I will send my resignation to the district and state president soon,” he added.</p>

<p>Haldar, considered to be a close associate of BJP leader Sovan Chatterjee, since his days in the TMC, recently met the latter at his residence in South Kolkata.</p>

<p>Earlier, 17 MLAs of the Trinamool Congress, one TMC MP, three each from the Congress and the CPI(M) and one from CPI have joined the BJP. However, it remains to be seen if Dipak Haldar will join the saffron camp. </p>
